The commonly used polishing methods at present.
In layman's terms, stainless steel is steel that does not rust easily.
The word "stainless steel" does not simply refer to a kind of stainless steel, but refers to more than a hundred industrial stainless steels, with different chemical compositions and processing techniques. Each stainless steel has good performance in its specific application field. As shown in the figure below, various stainless steels have different chemical compositions.
The stainless steel mechanism of stainless steel is that due to the presence of Cr element, the surface of stainless steel is oxidized, forming a dense oxide film, which hinders the further development of the oxidation reaction. The so-called oxide film is a thin film mainly composed of Cr2O3, which is generally only a few nanometers thick. Due to the existence of this film, the corrosion of the stainless steel matrix in various media is hindered. This phenomenon is called passivation. In fact, stainless steel does not necessarily rust, but its corrosion rate is much lower than that of other steels in the same environment, and sometimes it can even be ignored.
